The mirror maze had been Zava's idea. Mirrors were a personal touch of hers. Not only was she rather fond of her appearance - she worked hard on the enchantments that maintained her fascinating dark beauty despite the writhing chaos in her veins - you could do so much just with the mirrors alone to weave illusion, confuse senses and ensnare prey. She had her own guardian beasts, a lot more aesthetic than the horrors Dulles came up with, but she could just as easily watch through a one-sided mirror as intruders became hopelessly lost, wandering those endlessly reflected passages.
