Lady Delacour looked in the mirror and considered her faded beauty.  In her youth she had been greatly sought after, her looks and charms beguiling many, although if she were honest, she knew it was her fortune which what was more enticing.  And the folly of youth had led her to make many mistakes, which she, in her pride, had refused to admit at the time.

She risked another look and took a deep breath.  She could only hope Belinda might learn from her experiences.  Marriott would not approve, but for once she would defy the power her maid held.
