Synbios had fought dragons up close. This roar was louder than a dragon. This was the furious bellow of a much larger beast, a force of nature, being set free from the cage that had barely restrained it. 

 

Where the dam had been, a sheer wall of water came down with a crash. The sheer pressure tore apart the Colossus that had been swept away in the flood, unable to move its gigantic metal limbs out of the way in time. The bridge went with it, its bricks torn from each other. Nobody left standing on the bridge had survived.
