“Leave it alone,” Hector said sharply.

Guiltily, Daniel slid his finger out from under the bandage on his left hand.  “It itches,” he complained.

“And whose fault is that?  I told you to put anti-biotic cream on it, but you ignored me, out of some bizarre desire to punish yourself for what you could have done nothing about.  And so now it’s got infected and it itches.”

Daniel slid his hands under the table, and out of Hector’s sight.  Hector, however, wasn’t fooled and put Daniel’s arm out again.

“Stop it, or I’ll tape your right hand up as well!”
