At first events happened so quickly they seemed to blur.  Valerie drove Iosef to the hospital, where surgeons operated on Katerina Gerhardt seeking to keep her alive.  She encouraged him to keep going, and then offered to bring him a suit to replace his blood-splattered one.  But then, in his flat with BB, as Valerie realised his complicity in the plot, time seemed to slow as she readjusted her thoughts and feelings.  She wasn’t going to let BB see how upset she was, so it wasn’t until she re-entered the hospital she felt her eyes blur with the unshed tears.
