Just when things were getting back to normal, the withdrawal symptoms began.
It was a nightmare. The temple was crowded to bursting. It reminded me of that time I accidentally bought that patch of potions with those poppies in them.
I'd heard of mind-altering magic being addictive before, even the really malicious type. On a subconscious level, people who are suffering have an urge to get all that responsibility taken away from them. There were no giant demon burrowing insanity lizards here, though, so people had employed certain types of mages on the black market.
The guards have been informed.
