100wordsTitle: Frozen Time
A blasted wasteland stretched out in all dimensions. Huge scars in the land left craters and new mountains where chunks had been torn apart as the thing rose from the centre of the Earth. Twisted remnants of what must have been huge roads were strewn around like cut ribbons, some of them still littered with wrecks of mechanical vehicles of some kind. A biting gale howled. Everything seemed eerily still, the sky grey and otherwise featureless. As if whatever had broken it had frozen it in time. In the distance, a surprisingly intact-looking tower, a cracked dome, dominated the skyline.
