Title: 'Inspiration'

My publisher loves my new book; he thinks it's a science fiction masterpiece. It has all the clichés: Alien abductions, powerful robots, and lots of ray guns and lasers. But it also addresses serious issues; it's more than mere pulp.
He thinks it's cowardice, or else strong professionalism, that keeps me from revealing the secret of my inspiration whenever he asks me.
If I told my publisher the truth, he'd never believe me.
But I'll never tell him the truth: That I met a man named the Doctor. That I lived my new book's plot.
Let him think I'm brilliant.
