“Give it to me!”  Ros held out her hand.

Mutely, Lucas shook his head.

“I’m not going to argue.  It’s mine and you will give it to me.”

Lucas refused to let go.

“Lucas North,” Ros said loudly.  “We bought a bag of doughnuts between us.  We ate one each on the way back to the Grid.  Since when you have eaten a further two, which means the last one is mine.  So: give it to me!”

Reluctantly, Lucas surrendered the bag containing the remaining doughnut.

Ros took the doughnut, split it in half and passed half back to Lucas.
