Jane opened her eyes, a new day, and no one could say where it would take her. Since she woke up in the suitcase at Time Square some weeks ago, naked but covered with uncountable tattoos, without any memory, her life felt like a nightmare she couldn't escape, a neverending search for the truth about a past she was afraid of.

But at night, with Patterson at her side, she was able to let loose. Hold by gentle hands, calmed down by soothing words — lovemaking, not sex. Only a dream, lasting for some fleetingly hours, but so needed to survive.
