Adam Carter came into their bedroom and looked down fondly at Lucas North. He was fast asleep and, from the way he was twitching slightly, dreaming. At times the dreams would be nightmares and Lucas would wake shaking and cover in sweat, but now, from the slight smile he was giving, Adam knew this wasn’t the case.
Adam climbed carefully into bed, trying not to disturb his partner, but Lucas stirred and muttered sleepily, “I was dreaming about eating ice creams on the beach.”
“Carry on then, and I’ll have a flake in mine,” Adam said fondly kissing him gently.
