Garian looked into the wide staring eyes of the frozen statue with his own face and felt the same cold crawling up his spine. He shuddered, forcing himself to look away, to not be transfixed and drawn into the impossible world.
From somewhere deep in the recesses of his memory that now seemed to contain all sorts of things he shouldn't have been able to see, visions of visiting this place before again and again, one phrase, in Jack's voice, played in his head again:
'There's a rumour that Carbon Frozen prisoners aren't really dead, but trapped in endless nightmares."
