Young, old - troops follow the Sergeant into gunfire, lancers blazing and bodies bleeding; the wounded look to Marcus as a paragon of soldiery. Everyone knows that he's more than an abandoned post, including Benjamin, or more accurately, especially him.
Maybe he's got starry eyes, maybe he's just a rook, but Benjamin isn't stupid enough to reject the reality before his eyes.
So when the Sergeant barks an order, his feet move in sync.
