Notes: AU. Alt First Mtg. It's Joe's first day volunteering at the Save Our Strays animal shelter. He's got his eye on another volunteer, not the rabbit he's holding.
It was Joe’s first day volunteering at Save Our Strays, and he really should’ve been thinking about the rabbit he was holding, not how best to break the ice with the volunteer three kennels down.
“Shit!”
In a flash, the rabbit was out of Joe’s hands, into the corridor, and headed for door.
Joe got to his feet just in time to see the object of his affection lunge like a goalie, catching the fugitive ball of fluff.
“Nice save,” said Joe, grinning.
“There’s a reason we call him Magic. He likes to disappear. I’m Nicky, by the way.”
“Joe.”
