“What is he doing?” the Ocelot asked Mouselet.  They were watching the Ferret declaiming something.

“He’s rehearsing a new birthday ode,” she explained.

“Whose birthday?”

“No-one in particular.  It’s an all-purpose ode for whenever it’s needed.”

“Oh to be in England now that autumn’s here
To celebrate the time with someone very dear
To watch the rain and walk around the puddles
And stand beneath a tree in solitary huddles.”

“Autumn?” queried the Ocelot.

“You use the correct season,” the Ferret replied.  “And rain is appropriate at any time.”

“Huddles aren’t solitary,” Mouselet pointed out.

“They are in my poem.”
