I had not believed Holmes to be a pet-lover, and although he tolerates Bunbury, Mycroft’s cat, I was most surprised when I came into our sitting room one afternoon to find Wordsworth asleep on his lap.  I raised my eyebrows, but he merely shrugged.

Later, while we were eating our supper, I made mention of the event.  Holmes gave a bark of laughter, and said, “I believe that cat has been misnamed.  It should have been called Mrs Hudson, for it is quite as determined as was our landlady.”

Fortunately for the cat, he is not likely to be renamed.
