Fandom: Arthurian Legends/the story of Sir Gawaine and the Green Knight

Notes: This is what you get when you read three different Arthurian stories in the same day. (After this, Arthur gives everyone hugs; this is the origin of the term 'bear hug.' :P)
Camelot has shrunk since Gawaine left. The very air itself seems dazed; high noon takes on a tinge of the colours of sunset.
King Arthur his uncle--Arthur, who was king instead of uncle, when the knight came--swings his sword in the old familiar routine. He makes himself breathe while he works. It is a year and a day since that night in the hall. Today--
He checks himself mid-stroke, turns at familiar footsteps. "Brother," he sighs--
But Kay's face shows joy unlooked-for, and Arthur knows suddenly what message he brings. "He's alive," says Kay, and the sky begins to clear.
