“Well done, Lucas,” Harry Pearce said, “that was an excellent piece of surveillance work.  Gonshaw and his partner were completely oblivious.  The information you obtained has saved us all a considerable amount of time and effort.”

“Thank you.”  Lucas looked pleased.  “I have to admit it wasn’t difficult, sitting in one of the best coffee shops in London, lingering over a selection of their finest confections.”  He closed his eyes, clearly enjoying the memory.  He then brushed a few cake crumbs off his shirt front and grinned, before adding, “In fact, you might say it was a piece of cake.”
