To be safe: from war, from oppression, from fear, from famine or drought.  We hear those wishes on our news every day.

And freedom from poverty, but not in a drought ravaged third world country, or even one torn apart by war, but here, in William Blake’s ‘green and pleasant land,’ where children lack suitable clothing, warm bedding and even toiletries.  Where Christmas will be just another day. 

This is why we are here, to give all children in our county, who find themselves in need for whatever reason, the freedom to enjoy a childhood just like every other child.
