It left a mark on all of them, but for Sam, he kept the lessons close all of his life. When he met people, it was only in public places. He couldn't stand the idea of a roommate in college, so he found a tech school to attend and live in the old house.
Michael was gone. So was Grandpa, but Sam saw him in every stuffed creature in the house he shared with his mom.
By unspoken consent, neither one ever invited a person back to the house.
They would never unwittingly give a bloodsucking vampire power over them.
