She fell asleep some time ago while reading, her head pillowed in his lap. Delicate snores come out of her now, the sound soft and cute. Her fingers are limp as he carefully removes the book from her hands, before she can drop it and wake herself up.
It hurts for him to look at her sometimes; she's become so dear to him. Cautiously, he reaches across and drapes a blanket over her, before gently stroking her hair.
He doesn't know how he came to have such a wonderful woman in his life. He just knows that he's unspeakably lucky.
