“But that was the beauty of their plan,” Jane Marple replied. “If they had rented Wisteria Cottage, which would have been your inclination, everyone would have wondered why they wanted to live in such an out of the way place and the gossip would have been intense. As it was, no-one questioned the Hendersons, accepting them at face value.”
