Fandom: Sherlock Holmes (ACD) - Retirement era

There are certain things which I can be fairly sure will make Holmes smile: a morning spent with his bees; the antics of Wordsworth the cat or a letter from Mycroft detailing the exploits of his own cat Bunbury; the satisfaction of having successfully anticipated an event in the village before anyone else. However, none of these seemed to explain his current expression until I saw Florrie Hopkins on the other side of our garden hedge and heard Holmes say, “Explain your deduction to Dr Watson. I’m sure he will be impressed.” He is very proud of his young protégée.
