Spike stumbled drunkenly toward Buffy’s grave, a nearly empty bottle of bourbon dangling from his fingers.

He dropped the bottle and flopped to the ground on his hands and knees.

Then he sat up against the headstone, fished out of his pocket a battered small journal, and he started to write.

Where another hollow day goes by,
there begins another cold night.

A hundred times today,
the sun has set on your grave.

One by one, I count them all,
whenever I see the shadows fall.

A hundred years I roamed the world,
yet time has never run so slow.
