“This is not how you make pancakes,” said Dawn with a grimace, emptying the pan in the trash can.
Spike snorted. “Really? They’re not supposed to be burnt to a crisp?”
“I guess a chef career is not in the cards for me, huh?” she joked, walking back to the stove.
Spike took the pan from her hands. “Let’s try again, Bit. We’re bound to get it right before we run out of batter, yeah?”
“Thanks. I—I used to do this with mom, but she didn’t trust me much with the cooking part.”
He winked. “She was a smart woman.”
