Fran does not ask if she has Ashe’s trust. It is understood in the way Ashe looks to her. Their gazes connect in the heat of battle, but Fran bends time to her mastery, as she will bend Ashe’s will.
Fran’s face is the last thing she sees before she loses herself to the Berserk spell. Her blood pumps white-hot with fury, and she sinks her sword deep into the mark’s hide.
Moments later, Ashe drops her sword. She wipes her sweat with a shiver.
“To lose control like that…” She clenches her fist.
Fran’s hand slips into her grasp.
