Dawn didn’t turn around when she heard Spike calling her name while his rapid footfalls echoed among the headstones.
“Bloody hell, are you deaf?” he barked, upon reaching her. “Why didn’t you answer?”
She shrugged, absently twirling blades of grass between her fingers. “I knew you’d smell me.”
“The witches soddin’ lost it when you weren’t at home. Playing hide and seek at the cemetery at night? Bloody stupid.”
“Not hiding. Visiting my mom.”
“Can’t you do that before sundown?”
“I wanted you to come with me to visit Buffy,” she said, extending her hand. “You can’t avoid that forever.”
