Bob checked the levels on the various bottles of spirit, making a note of which ones he would need to fetch an extra bottle from the store. Some were rarely asked for, so there was no point in having a second bottle until the first was practically empty. Others, like the whisky bottle, were popular with some of the men, especially those who seemed to almost drink professionally. Then there was the gin. If Jenny Maple came in, she was sure to ask for some, and while Bob was delighted to see her, he wished she wouldn’t drink so much.
