“What do you all make of the new head of Section G?” Harry Pearce asked his team when they’d gathered back on the Grid.

There was an awkward silence before Malcolm said, “He sounds to be very competent.”

“Quite autocratic though,” Jo added.  “I don’t think I’d like working for him.”

“I’ve heard it said he’s quite a Renaissance man,” Ros said, “having a wide interest in both science and the arts.”

“I can imagine he’d be quite at home as an Italian Renaissance prince,” Lucas agreed.  “Many interests and no qualms about quietly removing someone if they proved inconvenient.”
