N wishes he could believe that Ghetsis' deeds, illaudable as they were, were simply misguided. Actions, initially meant well, that were simply taken a bit too far.
Now he knows that he must accept the truth: Ghetsis' is a sickness that has passed far beyond control. Madness, wed to ambition, birthing a determination that will stop at nothing, including attempted murder of innocents.
As much as he realizes that he ought to hate Ghetsis for the lies that he was raised by, nevertheless, all that N can summon in his heart for the man who brought him up is pity.
