Walking down the stairs, Buffy found Spike sitting on the basement floor with his legs stretched in front of him, surrounded by puzzle pieces.
He looked up, slightly embarrassed. “I was feeling better and snooped around. Saw this old puzzle and thought I could try something that’d make me use my loaf, make sure those Initiative wankers didn’t screw up my brain.”
“How’s it going?” she asked, sitting with him.
“Still sorting the pieces into groups. Edges, colors, sky, clouds…”
Buffy smiled. “I loved puzzles as a kid… they were so relaxing. Can I help?”
He smiled back. “Of course.”
