Entering the kitchen where some of the Potentials had gathered, Buffy was met with a tense silence.
“What?” she asked.
“Amanda was wondering why there’s a vampire living in your basement,” said Rona, “and we’re not quite sure how to answer.”
Buffy shrugged. “Spike’s our ally. I don’t get your confusion.”
“Well… he’s a vampire. Like the one that attacked me today,” observed Amanda.
“Spike is unlike any other vampire, but that’s beside the point. Life’s no fairy tale and there’s no clear-cut line between good and evil. Remember the demon bar we visited earlier? You gotta embrace the gray.”
