There was nothing about the situation that was fair, not in the least. Every time he looked over at the bunk laid out so different from the way it had been, Hawkeye wanted to scream a little. The bitter taste of missing Trapper was enough to drown out the taste of his paint-thinner-turned-martini.
Still, Honeycutt didn't seem too bad. He had a sense of humor, even. The guy might be a little too California, but Hawkeye could work with that.
If, he amended, he ever got over missing Trapper like some of his patients missed their arms and their legs.
