Penny isn’t excited to be home. She’s not looking forward to her father’s doting, the insistence on family activities… It’s all so corny. He’s so out of touch.
But when Penny steps into her house and sees her dad, she thinks of Arven. He’d been so critical of how she spoke about her family. He didn’t get it, though. Their situations were… Different.
Still, Penny has never had to come back to an empty home. Her dad’s over-the-top, but he’s always waiting here, happy to see her. And for once, when he scoops her into a hug, Penny doesn’t protest.
