"Holmes, can you take a look at this?" I said, as I passed him the note Mrs Hudson had given me on my return to Baker Street.

Holmes read it through. "I assume this isn't just a standard request for assistance from a colleague?"

"It reads as if it should be, but the only Whitelaw I know is a publican, and I wouldn't say malaria was as predominant as he seems to think."

"Then we may assume that this remains a request for assistance, but perhaps for a customer rather than a patient. Shall we go?"

"I think we should."
