Title: What John is Guilty Of
Fandom: Inspector George Gently
Rating: Teen and up
Notes: Introspection
"Everyone is guilty of something, sergeant."
That statement has stuck with John. It has coloured his outlook on policing perhaps more than it should have done. It means that John approaches every supposedly innocent person with cynicism and doubt. After all none of them are innocent.
John certainly isn't innocent. Every day when he walks into the station and looks at George he thinks his boss will be able to see beneath the mask he puts on. Because underneath it all is John's growing realisation that he is in love with George Gently and that can't end well. Can it?
