“If Luck were a stick,” Chandler groaned, shucking his raincoat, “I’d have the short end of it today.”
Joey stared at his cold, dripping form, pushing a beer into his hand. “Dude, what happened? You look like you’ve been through the wringer!”
“Thanks,” he muttered, taking a swig. “When I left for work, I had to wait forever to get a cab, what with the rain. Then we were stuck behind some old tub. I could smell the exhaust fumes through the windshield. No cabs when I left work, so I had to walk home. And a truck splashed me.”
