Notes: I'm finally reading the Percy Jackson books, currently on The Lightning Thief - when this drabble is set. I know they've been out for a long time, but in any comments, please avoid spoiling the later books!
These woods have lost their wilderness.
No, not lost it, Grover thinks, his body tensing. Been robbed of it.
Humans aren't all bad. They were wild once, too. But they've domesticated themselves and forced the rest of their world to follow.
Grover takes out his reed pipes to play, willing the tune of “So Yesterday” to calm him. It does help, a little.
He looks over to where Percy and Annabeth are squabbling over next steps. This mission is scary, but it has to go well…
He must find Pan. Pan can bring back the unruly heart of the world.
