"And now for the Grand Finale!" reported the old man, just before a flash of light heralded an outpour of combined elemental magic, enough to single-handedly rout a small army. The ground shook but the warding runes and the solid stone of the practice room endured. One final crescendo, then both the tune and the spell faded out.
Eliwood had heard of bardic magic and arcane dancers being employed by small squads but this was something else. Where had Lin's saviour even come from? Still, he didn't pry - it didn't do to look a gift tactician in the mouth.
