It was abysmal Becky Sharp felt; the way her beautifully constructed new life had come crashing down. And all for the sake of a small debt of £130, to, of all things, her dressmaker. Lord Steyne was ready to shower her in jewels and money; her son, never wanted, had finally been sent to school and out of her sight; she had found her rightful place in society. But now, because her husband failed to meet his debt, all that she had saved and worked for was being snatched from her grasp. Simply due to a little case of jealousy.
