Bilbo looked at Thorin.  Who would have imagined that the King under the Mountains could be so bashful when trying to present his courting beads?  If Bilbo hadn’t grabbed Thorin’s hand and prised his fingers open he would never have known what the silly dwarf was mumbling about.  And even now, when they were making their official announcement that they were courting Thorin had held back, leaving Bilbo to speak.

It wasn’t until the company cheered (they had been waiting for the announcement for a very long time) and Bilbo turned and hugged Thorin the dwarf even started to relax.
