The stranger might seem new to the rest of the courtiers, but the Prince knew he had met him before.  They had danced together that night when he’d thought of drowning himself in the lake.  The swan had come off the lake and they had danced, and the Prince had realised for the first time why he had never been attracted to any of the princesses he had been introduced to.  And now, the swan was here as a stranger, but casting him away and dancing with everyone else.  This betrayal was too much for the Prince’s fragile mental state.

It was the third Matthew Bourne ballet I've seen, and one I'd be wanting to see for some time. I've got a ticket for Romeo & Juliet this summer as well.
