Gently, he pried the romance book she used to escape from their lives from her fingers. Even more gently, he lifted her glasses from her nose and placed them onto her desk. He moved to cover her with a blanket but froze as she moved too, in her sleep. He braced himself to hear his friend’s name.
His mouth dropped open as she groaned out his! Egon pushed his own glasses up and blushed as red as Janine’s hair. Maybe, just maybe, dreams could come true. He tossed the blanket over her and paused just a second, secretly embracing her.
