No-one would ever accuse Hector de Jean of being a stalwart of the service, but when Daniel Miller was in trouble, Hector was the one he turned to.  Hector could be as flaky as hell, but despite appearances, he was loyal to his friends, and would do everything in his power to support them.  For a price, of course, but in their business, everyone had a price, and at least it was clear what Hector’s was.  Hector wasn’t what was conventionally thought of as stalwart, but he showed many of the traits, which currently included preventing Daniel from being killed.
