The iron herringbone or puppytooth.
The silken mail worn ‘neath the Harris tweed.
The crisp, white cotton breastplate guards, forsooth,
the stalwart hearts and pluck which Kingsmen need.

The polished leather, Oxfords without brogues,
the cufflinks, fountain pens, and handsome frames
are arsenal ‘gainst villains, fiends, and rogues,
a Savile Row defence with noble aims.

The watches for the ever-watchful eyes.
The secrets in the old Malacca canes.
The chivalry laid bare without disguise.
The armour and the shields ‘gainst evil’s banes.

Here bespoke suits, the humble and the grand.
Here knights and what they wear to guard the land.
