“You never keep me in the loop any more.” Joyce paused in folding Buffy’s jeans to indicate a rip in them. “Like this. What were you doing?!”
“Mom! Do you want me to tell you I was having wild sex? Is that it? Do you want me to tell you I’m a bad person?”
“You’re not a bad person! But . . . were you?”
“No!” Buffy hugged her. “You taught me better than that, Mom.” She walked away, heading into danger to risk her life to save others, placing others before her, just as her mom had also taught her to do.
