Daniel Miller looked at Lena Ganz.  His heart ached as he did so; he had tried so hard to avert the tragedy, to keep her father alive.  And now she blamed him for Otto’s death, for being the one who had brought about her own heartache.  Daniel vowed he would do everything he could to get her away from Berlin.  As he walked away his mind returned to his own mother’s death, and he cursed the city where she too had died.  So much history, so many deaths, and he wondered once again whether they could prevent there being more.
