Valerie Edwards remembered her grandmother saying little girls were made of sugar and spice and all things nice.  As a small girl she had doubted it, and as a grown woman she was never going to let it apply to her.  She had been used, she recognised it now, but she wasn’t going to show her hurt.  And she was equally determined not to allow her response to become personal.  The whole of Berlin Station had been duped, and with BB Yates by her side, they were about to prove little girls most certainly weren’t made of sugar and spice.
