“It’s nothing but an old ruin,” Gene Hunt moaned.  “I don’t know why you had to drag me here this afternoon.  I could have had a nice kip before going down the pub.”

“Think of all the history that’s happened here,” Sam Tyler said.  “It’s over 800 years old, and one of the best-preserved Cistercian monasteries in the country.”

“It still doesn’t have a roof, so if it rains, which it looks very much as though it will, we’re going to get wet.  I’m going back to the car.”

Sam glanced at the sky, and with a sigh followed him.
