She'd never thought much about family before. It didn't seem to apply to her. She had her gear, her safehouses, her accounts full of money. For the longest time, she thought that was all she needed.
Then they came along. It was just supposed to be a job. In and out and she didn't learn their names.
But they worked together, and better, they worked. They connected and they held, like the straps of a harness keeping her safe in the air. She learned much more than their names, then. She learned them. With them, she knew she could fly.
